Kenneth L. Duffy, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on December 10, 2024, at the age of 89. Kenneth was born on December 28, 1934, in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to James and Helen (Degnan) Duffy.
Kenneth's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, resilience, and commitment to serving others. He was a man of great integrity and kindness, qualities that endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His involvement with the community was profound; he dedicated many years volunteering at both the former Notre Dame Church and the current Holy Spirit Parish. Kenneth took great joy in helping those in need, embodying the spirit of compassion that is central to his faith.
He is preceded in death by his beloved sons, Robert K. Duffy, Kevin Duffy, and Timothy Duffy. He is also reunited in spirit with his brother, Harold Duffy, and sisters, June Horne and Gloria Kanakary.
He is survived by his cherished daughters, Barbara Duffy and Susan Duffy, and his sons, Stephen Duffy and Michael Duffy. Kenneth was a proud grandfather to Jason Reilly, Eric Duffy, Amber Duffy, Sara Holden, and Hannah Duffy, and he reveled in his role as a great-grandfather to Julia Duffy and Madison Grace Beaulieu. He is also survived by a sister, Bernadette Sobolewski. The love he had for his family was immeasurable, and he took great pride in each of their accomplishments.
Kenneth built a successful career as the sole proprietor of LJD Security, a business he ran with dedication until his retirement in 2004. His work ethic and commitment to excellence inspired those around him.
Though Kenneth had many interests and hobbies, what truly defined him was his ability to touch the lives of others. He had a special gift for spreading God's word, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His warm smile and gentle demeanor will be missed by so many.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 15th from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 16th at 9:30am in Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. Please gather directly at church in the morning. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of Rhode Island.
